Conscious Sales With Nina Concepcion

Sales. Salesperson. Closer.

Most people have visceral reactions to these words and phrases, and almost all of us hold stereotypes or preconceived notions of what they mean.

First off, we usually think of a man.

Probably a white guy.

Headset on, maybe.

Yelling, probably.

Definitely intense, right?

Maybe you envision the Wolf of Wall Street, or buying a car?

Here’s the thing.

If you have a life-changing idea, product, service, business, and/or brand, you are going to need to engage in sales.

Even if you’re a nonprofit, you’re selling something.

Even if you’re an activist, you’re selling something.

For my entepresunrus, business owners and side hustlers: sales is probably one of the biggest roadblocks holding you back right now.

No matter how much exposure, leads, or prospects you get, if you can’t close them – if you’re afraid of sales – it will all be for naught.

Now, this is usually where the tight feeling in our stomachs comes up. Or the explanation for how “my business is different though” starts to make its way into the conversation.

But before we go there. Let me introduce to you this week’s guest: Nina Concepcion.

Nina is here to turn all of your assumptions upside down.

Nina is a master and teacher of Conscious Sales: a co-creation and a synergistic relationship between two or more people that is beneficial for both parties and the rest of the world.

Now I bet that sounds more in alignment with your values, right?

Sales and selling doesn’t have to be ugly.

When done right, it provides growth, opportunity, and a step forward.

I invite you to take a few minutes of your week and hear what Nina has to say.

Now only will it change your entire perspective on what it means to be in sales, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet a truly remarkable entrepreneur.

In addition, you’ll get to hear Nina talk about:

-How your values drive your life

-How to get your coaching business off the ground

-The power of social media

-What to do on a sales call

-What’s stopping you from moving forward

-How to overcome self-sabotage and step into your inner power

I’m telling you: this interview is essential!

Hit play and let me know what your number one takeaway was.

Be sure to hit Nina up and show her some love → through her facebook

An Interview With My Dad

I have been reflecting upon fatherhood ever since… you know… becoming a father. So I knew this would have to be one of the replays I dusted off and brought back to life.

In May of 2017, I had the opportunity to sit down with my dad for an interview. It’s an episode I treasure and hold dear.

As a result, it is my honor to share it with you this week.

Here’s the original writeup:

I'm so excited that my dad, Tom Earl Sr., joined me for an interview this week!  My dad and I have a special relationship that I am so grateful for.  Not only is he my dad, but he is also my friend, my mentor, an inspiration, and one of my heroes.

My dad is super humble, so let me brag for a second: he's a self-taught artist and landscape architect, a Vietnam veteran, he raised my oldest sister as a single dad, he started his own business back before it was cool to be an entrepreneur, and he's my dad :).

It took me over a year to convince my dad to do this interview.  And it was well worth the wait.

On this week's episode: My dad shares some cool stories about my childhood and what it's like to be my dad. We also talked about his own personal life journey. Dad imparted some great knowledge about life, entrepreneurship, being unafraid of failure, following passions, and never giving up.

Check out this very personal conversation between my dad and I!

Empowering Practices

I want to thank you all so much for going all the way through our “Manifesting Your Adventure” series. If you are just catching this episode now, I want to encourage you to go all the way back and listen to this all the way through. We began the series on March 9th and I hope you’ll get a lot of value from journeying with us through each of the first 6 parts of the journey before today’s focus on empowering practices.

On this last day of our series, we want to make sure that this isn’t a “set it and forget it” type thing for you...like one of those situations where you create a vision board and then you never listen to it again. Nothing like that here!

We want to make sure that this is a continual process of checking in and empowering yourself as you are heading towards your next adventure in life. And most importantly, that you are nurturing your mindset and your relationships and the processes that will continue to move you forward towards whatever your next adventure is.

This episode will finalize and complete the 7-episode series. Thank you so much for being a part of it.

Fam, make sure to go back to the last 6 episodes before you go through this one. If you’d like to go through the rest of the program, I’m giving you the gift of 30 days free of T.H.E. Abundance Beliefs

Thank you for joining me for another week of our “Manifesting Your Adventure” series. I hope that you and your family are staying safe, healthy and sane in this unprecedented time of introspection and uncertainty.

I’d love you to get the most value out of this episode, and before you tune into this episode, if you haven’t already heard the previous 5 weeks’ episodes, it will give you a better context. We began the series on March 9th and I hope you’ll get a lot of peace from journeying with us through each of the first 5 parts of the journey before today’s focus on abundance.

On this episode, we are focusing on your mindset. To this point in our series, you have worked on many important things. In the training, we have talked about setting goals; we have identified what your ideal day feels like, we talked about forming a more positive relationship with failure and we took a closer look at what your success looks like.

We want your mindset and your belief systems to work towards your benefit, both consciously and subconsciously. The activities in the workshop we are going through today are going to set that foundation for you.

Fam, make sure to go back to the last 5 episodes before you go through this one. If you’d like to go through the rest of the 7-day program, I’m giving you the gift of 30 days free of T.H.E. Celebrating Failure

Peace to you all. I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy in heart, mind and body. Thank you for joining me for another week of our “Manifesting Your Adventure” series. Did you get to check out the previous 3 weeks’ episodes? If not, please go back to the first installment in this series, which came out on March 9th and listen to the first 3 before joining us on this week’s adventure.

This week’s episode is called “Celebrating Failure.” Why should we spend time talking about failure when what we really want is to succeed?

All successful people have a great relationship with failure. Whether you’re an inventor, a founder or a musician, there are going to be many steps along the way where you are going to experience setbacks.

On this week’s episode, we explore ways we can celebrate failure. When we are taking risks, envisioning, creating change, and putting ourselves out there, creating a healthy relationship with failure is really important. When we try something new or strive to live our best life, we are inevitably setting ourselves up to experience moments where we stumble or fall short, and the mindset we have in those moments will influence how we move forward.

This week’s episode is a workshop that walks us through how we can create a growth mindset and a healthy relationship with failure so that when we reach these inevitable failures in our journey, that they don’t set us back or make us doubt ourselves and our dreams.

Together, we break down what we have been taught failure means, and then create our own fresh definition through working through some intentional exercises.

Make sure to go back to the last 3 episodes before you go through this one. If you’d like to go through the rest of the 7-day program, I’m giving you the gift of 30 days free of T.H.E. Celebration Academy membership. As a member, you receive access to all of our class and are able to participate in the monthly live workshop that is exclusively for members.

The More You Love Yourself… With Timothy Mays

On this week’s podcast, I have the pleasure of speaking with Timothy Mays, an educator, artist and published author. In our talk, we delved into what it means to experience love and relationships and to feel a sense of community. We peeled back the layers and expectations of what being a man means - in whatever variant identities you may have.

Timothy shared his experiences growing up and how he has witnessed marriages changing and evolving throughout the years. We also talked about Black History Month and about books that have transformed and impacted Timothy's life and my life as well. You will not want to miss this episode so you can hear Timothy's perspective on creating community and how men can transform their lives through the creation of community.

Timothy received his Master’s in Higher Education from Loyola University Chicago in 2016 and continues to dig deeper into his research around exoticism, disposability, and the healing of Black bodies.

As an Artist/Spoken Word poet, Timothy has competed in the National Poetry Slam, InkSlam, College and Universities Poetry Slam Invitational, and many other events.

He is now conducting spoken word and critical pedagogy workshops that give students and community members a space to develop their voice and materialize their thoughts.

Timothy recently released his first poetry and affirmation book entitled, “And Still I Rise to Fantasize” which attempts to channel Black resilience in the face of consistent trauma while having the unwavering courage to strive toward being holistically well.

Timothy has devoted himself to making sure that people from low-income communities are prepared for and comfortable with the possibility of advocating for themselves to ensure that a true sense of community is accomplished.

To find out more about Timothy, you can reach him on Instagram and on his website.

In that time, she left a non-beneficial long term relationship, moved from her small hometown in Mississippi to Dallas, and began traveling for the first time, freelance writing, and learning to heal old mindsets.

We Are All Creatives

On this week’s episode, we talk about creativity! Each and every single one of us are creatives, and we are continually expressing ourselves in unique and wonderful ways. We discuss the relationship between creativity and vulnerability, and how getting lost in the process of creating is often more important than the product. There are so many different ways to express your creativity aside from traditional “art”, from showing people how you love to setting up your spreadsheets.

The second half of this episode is a replay from a Live and Online: Expression Session. You will hear the poetry people created during the freewrite session using the prompt “We Are All Creatives”.

The world needs your gifts! How are you showing up creatively in your life?
